ABILENE – The ACU women's soccer team equaled its highest win total in their young history Friday night with a 1-0 victory over Texas Woman's at the Wildcat Soccer Pitch. The Wildcats moved their record to 9-4-1 on the season and 4-1-1 in the Lone Star Conference.

Alyson Thomas scored the only goal midway through the second half as she found the net on a free kick from a Pioneer foul. The goal was her first of the season in a game where the Wildcats outshot the Pioneers 22-6. ACU controlled the ball most of the first half recording 12 shots and holding TWU to only 2 shots.
Lyndsey Womack nearly broke the game open in the first half when she shot the ball between two TWU defenders, but it nailed the post and bounced into the arms of Pioneer, Nori Morgan. The TWU goalkeeper Morgan was busy as she recorded 12 saves. Senior
Crissy Lawson returned to the net for the Wildcats and she recorded four saves as the Wildcats were able to keep the ball out of their own end most of the match.
The win matches the Wildcats most wins in a season as they have improved in each of their two seasons. ACU will have a chance for their first 10 win season on Sunday as they host Texas A&M-Commerce in a 1 p.m. contest.
