ABILENE – The Wildcats rolled over Baptist Bible College Tuesday night winning 116-74. Led by
Giordan Cole who recorded a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds gave ACU their fourth highest point total in a season opener.
Taking control early the Wildcats raced out to a 21 point lead hitting six three pointers before the Patriots Bobby Hughes hit a three pointer just under the 16 minute mark. ACU finished 11 of 31 from behind the arc as
Eddie Thompson hit three in the first half and finished with 20 to lead all scorers.
Sophomore
Ben Warton was solid for the Wildcats as he also recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Also scoring in double digits was
Vladimir Gavranic who was steady in his ACU debut with 14 points and six rebounds while
Kevin White added 13 points and six rebounds as well.
The Wildcats never trailed as they scored 100 points for the eight time in a season opener as they move to 1-0 on the season. BBC falls to 4-2 as they finished their Texas trip. ACU opens the season with six games at home as they return to action on Saturday. They welcome Dallas Christian to Moody Coliseum for a 5 p.m. tipoff.
