ABILENE – The ACU men's basketball team cruised to their second consecutive victory Saturday night defeating Dallas Christian, 84-59 inside Moody Coliseum.
The Wildcats raced out to an 8-0 lead before Dallas Christian hit a free throw at 14 minute mark following an ACU technical. A physical first half cause over 20 fouls from both teams combined in the period as ACU shot just 71% from the line. However, that was enough to give the Wildcats a 44-27 halftime lead.
ACU caused the Crusaders to turn the ball over 30 times as they pushed the game out of reach in the second half. The Wildcats led by as many as 32 mid-way through the second period.
Giordan Cole had 19 points and 13 rebounds for his second consecutive double-double for the Wildcats. Eddie Thompson added 13 points and five boards.
Antwan Warren was 3-3 from behind the three-point arc and led Dallas Christian with 16 points.
The Wildcats will turn around on Monday night and host Hillsdale Free Will College. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Moody Coliseum.
