
ACU Falls to SMU in Exhibition

DALLAS – The Wildcats fell Monday night to SMU in its final exhibition game 74-47 in the Mustangs' Moody Coliseum.
The Wildcats fell behind early as the Mustangs opened the game on an 11-0 run before the Wildcats got on the board at the 4:03 mark. Jamie Meyer scored 10 points to the Wildcats in scoring.
In the second half the Wildcats stayed with Division I SMU as both teams scored 21 points in the second half; however the 29 point deficit was too much to overcome.
Christine Elliot led all scorers with 13 points on the night.
Senior Courtney Laing played solid in 23 minutes of action as she recorded eight points and nine rebounds as Jody Meyer also tallied eight points on the evening. Starting guards Kat Kundmueller and Kelsey Darby-Holson both added six points for the Wildcats as Kundmueller handed out six assists as well.
The Wildcats split their exhibition games going 1-1 as they open the season Monday November 16 when they host St. Mary's University. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Moody Coliseum.
