DENTON – The Wildcats women's basketball team won their fourth straight Monday night, 70-64 over Texas Woman's at Kitty Magee Arena. For the second straight game Jamie Meyer hit two free throws with under a minute to seal the victory for ACU as they improve to 6-3 on the season.
The Pioneers led most of the second half until Autumn Whitaker found a cutting Meyer whose jumper gave the Wildcats the lead with 3:49 left in the game. It was the Wildcats first lead since a minute left in the first half.
ACU would never trail the rest of the half as TWU would only get within one as the Wildcats finished the game at the free throw line for their sixth win on the season. The Wildcats who struggled from the field Saturday night found a rhythm shooting 49% against the Pioneers.
Meyer was 5 of 6 from the free throw line and 11 of 16 from the field as she finished with a game high 27 points in the win.
Jody Meyer was a perfect 4-4 from the free throw line as she was the only other Wildcat in double figures with 16.
Texas Woman's had three players score in double figures as Jessica Durr had a team high 14 points and six steals.
The Wildcats continue LSC North action as they return home for a Saturday afternoon contest against Central Oklahoma. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
