ABILENE – ACU head coach Chantiel Wilson announced recently that she has signed two high school players to national letters-of-intent for the 2011 season.
Joining the Wildcats are Liberty Hill shortstop Siera Sproul and Canyon pitcher / outfielder Ashley Nolan.
Last season as a junior at Liberty Hill High School, Sproul hit .311 with four home runs, 21 RBI and 28 runs scored as she earned first team all-district honors. A starter since her freshman season, Sproul was a second team all-district selection each of her first two seasons.
Nolan has also been a starter since her freshman year at Canyon High School. Last year she hit .460 and was 21-8 with a 2.44 ERA in the circle, leading Canyon to a 30-9 record.
She was a first team all-district pitcher as a sophomore and junior after earning second team honors as a freshman. She has 443 career strikeouts entering her senior season.
