ABILENE – ACU head tennis coach Hutton Jones announced recently that he has signed Abilene High standout Madelyn Waliker to a national letter-of-intent for the 2010-11 season.
Madelyn Walker – the daughter of ACU assistant tennis coach John Walker and the younger sister of ACU standout Jaclyn Walker – has been one of the Lady Eagles' top players the last four seasons. A seven-time letterwinner, Madelyn Walker has helped the Eagles to a 199-29 record over the last four seasons.
Madelyn Walker is a four-time first team all-district performer in both singles and doubles and was the team MVP as a junior in 2008-09. She was the District 3-5A singles champion in 2009 and the Region I-5A runner-up.
This fall, Madelyn Walker helped the Lady Eagles win the District 3-5A championship and reach the Region I-5A semifinals. She was voted first team all-district in both singles and doubles.
