NACOGDOCHES -- ACU wrapped up its season-opening road trip with a tough 4-3 loss against Stephen F. Austin.

The Wildcats opened their season Monday with a pair of 6-1 victories over Prairie View A&M (in Hempstead) and Sam Houston State (in Huntsville).  The Wildcats are 2-1 on the season after Tuesday's loss at SFA.

In Tuesday's match, the Wildcats won the doubles point by winning all three doubles matches, but lost four of six singles matches en route to losing the match.

"Wve got to get a little bit tougher," ACU head coach Hutton Jones said.  "We were in control of the match and should have won.  We've got to step up a little bit better than we did (today).  I don't want to take anything away from Stephen F. Austin, but we should have won that match."

ACU will return to action Sunday at home when the Wildcats host Oklahoma Christian at noon and Midwestern State at 4 p.m. at the Teague Special Events Center.
