Carpenter earns LSC honor

RICHARDSON -- ACU freshman Alex Carpenter was honored Wednesday as the Lone Star Conference Golfer of the Week after his second individual win of the season.

Carpenter won his second tournament of the spring season Monday when he captured the individual title at the UST Texas Intercollegiate in Fort Worth. Carpenter, who last week won the Red River Collegiate individual title, fired a two-round total of 136, including an opening-round 66 at the par-72 Hawks Creek Golf Course layout in Fort Worth.

Carpenter's individual championship helped his team to a second-place finish behind Oklahoma City University, the nation's top-ranked NAIA team.
