Softball doubleheader moved

ABILENE -- This weekend's Lone Star Conference South Division softball series between Texas Woman's and ACU has been pushed back to a Sunday-Monday format because of the cold front that moved into Abilene Friday night.

Because conference rules mandate that softball teams play a conference series on consecutive days, the teams had to move the series from Friday-Saturday to Sunday-Monday. The series will get started with a single game Sunday at 5 p.m. at Wells Field and is scheduled to conclude with a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Monday.

The Wildcats enter their division-opening series at 9-14 overall, while the Pioneers sit at 16-8 overall and 1-2 in the LSC South after losing two of three at home last weekend against West Texas A&M. ACU is the only team in the LSC South that hasn't played a division game so far in 2010. The Wildcats enter the three-game series against TWU coming off a doubleheader split with Incarnate Word on Tuesday.
