ABILENE – After moving up in the College Baseball Coaches poll to No. 9 the ACU baseball squad swept a doubleheader from Texas Wesleyan Tuesday at Crutcher Scott Field. ACU came back for a 10-4 win in game one before a quartet of pitchers shutout the Rams 7-0 in the nightcap.

Game one recap

Willie Uechi went 3-for-3 at the plate and scored two runs in game one as he was one of five Wildcat players to record multiple hits.

Chris Hall went 2-for-4 with two RBIs as his base hit in the bottom of the fifth sparked a five run inning for the Wildcats on their way to an eventual 10-4 win. Hall was also honored between games as he was the second ACU infielder to win the Rawlings Gold Glove which is awarded to the nation's top fielders.

Josh Crockett picked up his third win of the season as he came in relief of starter Kevin Justice. Justice scattered seven hits allowing four runs in 4.1 innings striking out one. Crockett worked 1.2 innings allowing only one base runner on a single walk.

Clint Bowker hit his first homerun of the season in the bottom of the first as two-run shot to left field.
