Calhoun voted all-America


ABILENE – ACU junior Will Calhoun was voted second team all-America on the Daktronics team, which was selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Calhoun was voted to the second as the designated hitter, the same spot he earned on the America Baseball Coaches' Association team, which was announced Monday.

Calhoun led the Wildcats with a .413 batting average and hit 11 home runs and drove in 53 runs in his first season with the Wildcats.  Calhoun was second on the team in hits (95), runs scored (65) and total bases (150) and was third in home runs and RBI.

He was 5-1 with a 5.10 ERA on the mound.  He started 11 games on the mound for the Wildcats, giving up 78 hits, 42 runs (37 earned) and 22 walks while striking out 49 batters in 65 1/3 innings of work.
