NORMAN, Okla. – For the first time in program history, two ACU Wildcats have been honored as NCAA Division II all-America selections in the same year.
Individual national champion Cyril Bouniol was voted to the PING all-America first team by the Golf Coaches' Association of America, while freshman Alex CArpenter was voted a second team selection.
Last month, Bouniol became the second Wildcat golfer to win the national championship, joining 1993 national champion and current PGA Tour pro Jeev Singh on the list. Bouniol won the Lone Star Conference championship and finished second at the regional tournament.
Carpenter had a fantastic freshman season, winning four tournaments, including tying Bouniol for the LSC individual medalist championship. Carpenter was named the recipient of the Phil Mickelson Award, presented by the Phil and Amy Mickelson Foundation as the most outstanding freshman in NCAA Division II men's golf.
