ACU Receives Votes In First Poll

Lexington, Ky. – The first American Volleyball Coaches Association Poll has the Wildcats starting where they finished, receiving votes and outside the top 25 on Wednesday.
ACU received 21 votes in the preseason edition of the AVCA Poll released today. The Wildcats spent one week in the top 25 last year despite a 17 game winning streak to end the season and a 29-6 record.
Concordia-St. Paul, who went undefeated en route to their third National Championship, holds the top spot. Cal State San Bernardino is second followed by Tampa, and Indianapolis and Central Missouri rounding out the top five. 
West Texas A&M who ended the Wildcats season in the Lone Star Conference Championship match enters the season ranked No. 7 one spot behind Washburn where ACU will visit their Invitational to open October.
Emporia State who debuts at No. 12 and Truman State at No. 25 are also Wildcat opponents at the Washburn Invitational. 
ACU continues fall camp with a couple closed scrimmages to finish their first week. The Wildcats begin their 2010 campaign September 3-4 at Colorado School of Mines Tournament in Golden, Colorado.
