Wildcats Make Move On Day 2

 ORLANDO, Fla. – After finishing their first round early Monday morning the ACU golfers got out to a hot start to their second round moving up to third place at Golf Week's Spring Invitational at the Legacy Course on Reunion Resort.
 

Sparked by Alex Carpenter who finished with three birdies on the front nine and added three more on the back to storm near the top of the leaderboard. Carpenter currently sits in a tie for second place at 6 under (138) through two rounds.

 

The sophomore again made back-to-back birdies at the turn on the par 5 ninth and tenth to get to 4 under. He would birdie No. 15 for the second day in a row as well and birdie the par four 17th to sit one stroke behind the leader, Coker College's Jake Murphy.

 

Day two saw movement for other Wildcat golfers as Tyler Sheppard moved into the top 25 with a 1 over 73. Sheppard sat at even par before a bogey on the 18th dropped him to +1 for the day and +3 for the tournament.

 

Cyril Bouniol is also tied with Sheppard in 21st after shooting a 3 over 75 on Monday. Along with Bouniol Adam Carpenter moved into the top four golfers to record scores shooting a 76, 4 over for the second consecutive day and +8 for the tournament.

 

Heading into Tuesday's final round ACU two-day score of 584 is four behind Lynn University and just five shots back of Barton College. The Wildcats improved their second day total with a score of 290 after posting a 294 on Sunday.
