Hans Hach of the Abilene Christian men's tennis team received a No. 2 national ranking from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association in its annual preseason poll. Hach is coming off a fall season in which he won a third straight regional title and finished as the runner-up at the ITA/USTA National Small College Championships.
Overall, Hach went 19-3 in singles with two of his losses coming against NCAA Division I opponents from TCU and Gonzaga. His final loss was to top-ranked Georgi Rumenov of Armstrong Atlantic. In between, the native of Culiacan, Mexico went 5-0 to win his second straight singles title at New Mexico State and 6-0 at regionals, where he rallied from a set down to beat Nicolai Ferrigno of Cameron in the finals, 4-6, 6-2, 6-2.
Hach also is ranked third in doubles with partner Borja Cortés, a combination that won two championships this past fall en route to a 15-2 record. Hach and Cortés won doubles titles at regionals and New Mexico State, finished third at nationals and second at the Midland Racquet Club Invitational.

Cortés, a sophomore, went 7-5 in singles play during his second semester at ACU and will begin the spring ranked 42nd, while senior
Alfredo Desiati starts with a No. 45 ranking. Desiati reached the quarterfinals of regionals and the Boise State Classic in finishing the fall with an 8-4 record.
ACU is the highest ranked Lone Star Conference team in the ITA poll followed by 19th-ranked Cameron at and 24th-ranked Midwestern State.
