Final Results
AVONDALE, La. - Abilene Christian's No. 7-ranked golf team started its 2012 spring season with a sixth-place team finish Tuesday at the UNO Mardis Gras Invitational at TPC of Louisiana.
No. 6 North Alabama - which trailed No. 1 Lynn University by one stroke after the first two rounds - earned the team victory at 16-over-par 880, while West Florida was second at 884 (294-296-294). Lynn fell to third place on the final day after shooting rounds of 289-297-301.
ACU finished sixth at 898 (301-206-301) with No. 6 Nova Southeastern in fifth at 892, and the University of Indianapolis in fourth at 920.

Alex Carpenter was the Wildcats' highest finisher as he finished fourth at 2-over-par 218 with rounds of 74-70-74.
Sophomore
Trey Sullivan finished tied for 13th at 223 with rounds of 73-76-74, while freshman
Corbin Renner tied for 20th at 224 (75-73-76). Freshman
Luke Carpenter tied for 51st at 236 (79-77-80), and junior
Kyle Dickerson finished a stroke behind tied for 54th at 237 (81-79-77).
For the Wildcats, Tuesday's finish marked the 25th straight tournament in which they've finished in the top seven.
