Jason Bibler released as head volleyball coach

ABILENE – ACU director of athletics Lee De León announced Friday morning that he has released head volleyball coach from his duties, effectively immediately.
Bibler compiled an overall record of 27-63 in three seasons as the Wildcats' head coach, including 24-24 in Southland Conference play. ACU was 12-19 in 2016, Bibler's final season as the Wildcats' head coach.
"I appreciate all the effort Jason has put in to make our volleyball program competitive within the Southland Conference," De León said. "However, after much thought and prayer, I believe we are in need of a change of leadership in our program. We will begin a national search immediately for a coach that will be a great fit for ACU and the outstanding student-athletes on our volleyball team."
Bibler was hired as the ninth head volleyball coach in ACU history on June 30, 2014 after serving as an assistant coach for one season at Texas-Arlington. Prior to that one season at UTA, Bibler was Kellen Mock's assistant at ACU from 2010-12 during which the Wildcats qualified for back-to-back NCAA Division II post-season tournament appearances (2010 and 2011). His collegiate coaching expertise also includes two seasons as a graduate assistant coach at Angelo State.
