ACU adds two more gifts to stadium project

ABILENE – ACU director of athletics Lee De León announced Tuesday two significant gifts totaling almost $2 million toward Anthony Field at Wildcat Stadium, which will host its inaugural season of Wildcat football beginning September 2017. The gifts bring the total raised for this $50 million transformative project to more than $41 million.

One of the gifts is anonymous; the other is seven figures and will go toward the naming rights of the Club Level in the stadium's Chuck Sitton Tower. The donor's name will be announced at a later date.

"I'm continually amazed by the generosity of the ACU faithful," De León said. "These two generous donations demonstrate how much Abilene Christian means to its alumni and friends, and how much they believe in the future of the school and ACU Athletics."

The 10,000-square-foot Club Level will be able to host gatherings of up to 350 people and special events such as weddings, receptions, reunions, board meetings, banquets and other functions. Those interested in hosting an event in the Club Level can contact Becky Brown in ACU Athletics at 325-674-2287 or becky.brown@acu.edu.

Wildcat Stadium opens Sept. 16, 2017, with a Southland Conference matchup against Houston Baptist University, the first on-campus football game at ACU in 58 years. Season tickets for 2017 go on sale Monday, June 26. Stay tuned to acusports.com for more information.

Anyone interested in additional naming rights donations to help fund this project and leave a mark on Wildcat Stadium should contact Dave Kinard, senior associate director of athletics, at 325-674-6483 or dave.kinard@acu.edu.
