Student-Athlete Advisory Committee
ACU SAAC
The Abilene Christian University Athletic Department takes great pride in the accomplishments and contributions of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
The purpose of SAAC at ACU is two-fold. First and foremost, SAAC serves as a liaison to the athletic administration at ACU, ensuring student-athletes have a voice in all issues impacting their overall experience and welfare. Secondly, SAAC serves as a leadership group recruiting fellow student-athletes to serve the campus and community through a variety of service programs.
Division II SAAC Mission Statement
The mission of the NCAA Division II Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is to enhance the total student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity for all student-athletes; protecting student-athlete welfare; and fostering a positive student-athlete image.
Division II SAAC Guiding Principles
The Division II SAAC will be guided by the following principles: ethics, integrity, fairness and a respect for diversity which shall include attention to gender, race, ethnicity and sport.
A Senior Football Student-Athlete from Sugar Land, Texas, David will serve as the ACU SAAC Chair in 2011-2012. David is also apart of the NCAA Division II National Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Pillen's term began immediately January 2010 and will last through the close of the January 2013 NCAA Convention.
A Senior Softball Student-Athlete from Abilene, Texas, Brianna will serve as the ACU SAAC Vice-Chair in 2011-2012.
A Senior Volleyball Student-Athlete from
Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Kelsie will serve as the ACU SAAC Secretary in 2011-2012.
A Junior Basketball Student-Athlete from
Brownwood, Texas, Shelby will serve as the ACU SAAC Community Engagement Leader in 2011-2012.
