LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Abilene Christian men's golf makes the familiar trip to Chenal Country Club to compete in the Everett Buick GMC Classic on Monday and Tuesday. It marks the 10th time the Wildcats have competed in Little Rock's home event since 2013, and the first time since 2022.
ACU is part of a 16-team field featuring fellow Texas programs North Texas and Lamar. Furman, Central Arkansas and Coastal Carolina each competed in a 2025 NCAA Regional.
Louisiana, Louisiana-Monroe, Southern Miss, Troy and James Madison join the Chanticleers in representing the Sun Belt Conference. Middle Tennessee, UAB, Little Rock, Lipscomb and Austin Peay round out the field.
The Wildcats will travel with a lineup of
Thomas Buisson,
Tres Hill,
Preston Cooper,
Preston DeFriend and
Jack Hollingsed. In its last time out, ACU tied for 11th place amongst 16 teams at the Trinity Forest Invitational in Dallas on Oct. 5-7.
Buisson aims to continue his strong start to the 2025-26 campaign after recording a career-best performance last week. He tied for 15th place at 6-under 210 at Trinity Forest Golf Club, marking the best finish and score of his career. Buisson matched his career low for a round with a 3-under 69 third round. He has begun his season with three consecutive top-25 placements, leading the Wildcats at each tournament.
Hill registered his top showing as a Wildcat at the Trinity Forest Invitational, tying for 31st place at 1-under 215 following a 1-under 71 third round. He has shown improvement in each tournament after tying for 57th at the JT Poston Invitational and drawing for 41st at the Bayou City Collegiate Classic.
In his first event of the year, Cooper matched Hill in tying for 31st place in Dallas while competing as an individual. He carded a 1-under 215 thanks to a pair of 1-under 71 rounds. DeFriend looks to build upon a tie for 72nd place at the Bayou City Collegiate Classic in his first outing of the season on Sept. 29-30.
Hollingsed is coming off a tie for 50th at 5-over 221 at the Trinity Forest Invitational, previously tying for 36th at the Bayou City Collegiate Classic. He logged a 3-under 69 in the third round in Dallas.
